A summary of our medical projects.

On our deployments, we send teams of doctors, pharmacists and dentists to carry out medical work. Medical work has been carried out in the camps in Calais and Dunkirk in France and most recently in the Kutupalong camp in Bangladesh. Whilst working in the Kutupalong camp the medical team volunteered their time at the Obat Helpers medical clinic where an average of 200-300 patients were seen daily. Patients were triaged and treated by the medical team. The onsite pharmacy provided the medication to the refugees free of charge.

The RCF medical team also selected patients from the Kutupalong refugee camp from those who needed surgery for painful hernias, cancers, infected abscesses and benign tumours that were causing discomfort. The patients were transported from the camp to the local hospital. This is a mammoth task in a country where healthcare is already overstretched with its local populus, let alone the additional needs of the new refugee population.

It is difficult to provide this service to all refugees, the most urgent cases take priority within the camp. Most of the patients selected have had little or no access to healthcare, both in Myanmar and here in Bangladesh.

What will your donation do?

Your £20 monthly donation will not only help provide a child with an (1) education, but the children will also receive a daily nutritious snack, dental and medical checkups twice a year, uniform, bags and school stationery. Your donation will allow us to gift the childrens’ families with Eid parcels which include food and clothing on Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha.

A direct debit allows you to donate a small amount every month and helps us provide stability to some of these vulnerable people.
