Healthy Smiles

The overall goal for RCF with this project is to shift the model for oral health from intervention to prevention by reducing the increasing burden of oral disease through community engagement and advocacy.

RCF and Obat Helpers have a strong and informed health advocacy presence in the local community. The data collected from the dental clinic is shared with other organisations such as the WHO to raise awareness of the health problems faced by refugees and how we can have an impact.

To promote the better oral health of refugees and migrants, RCF will be focusing our efforts on advocating for refugee health in the regional and country agendas. Access to oral health care services is very limited in refugee camps and medical facilities are unable to treat the sources of toothache and infections. Most dental problems are preventable therefore a greater focus of this project will be on the prevention. Community healthcare workers will receive training in delivering Oral health promotion and prevention messages to the refugees.

Become a Volunteer Today

RCF have organised multiple fundraising events for all volunteers to get involved in. Funds raised will be used to fund the dental project, medical equipment and go towards essential welfare items including food, shelter and water sanitisation.

If you are unable to join the team in Bangladesh but still want to help in any capacity you can join the team in our fundraising events. If you would like to arrange your own fundraising event, please get in touch with the team on info@refugeecrisisfoundation.com.
