France

RCF’s very first project started in Calais and Dunkirk in France during the migrant crisis in 2015 where we immediately realised there was a desperate need for dental, medical and welfare aid. The refugee camp in Calais had a staggering population of 10,000 refugees and 1500 in Dunkirk.

RCF recruited several dental, medical and welfare volunteers and we set up the first mobile dental clinic in the refugee camp known as The Jungle, Calais. Together we also set up multiple welfare distribution packs and provided medical care. Patients ranged from babies to the old and vulnerable. Hundreds of RCF volunteers helped over many weekend trips to the French border to help refugees in need. The dental unit started as a donated caravan however in 2016 a team built a wooden dental unit.

Refugee camps in Calais and Dunkirk began closing down towards the end of 2016 by the French authorities and are no longer there, however, sadly there are many refugees still residing in France.

Become a Volunteer Today

RCF have organised multiple fundraising events for all volunteers to get involved in. Funds raised will be used to fund the dental project, medical equipment and go towards essential welfare items including food, shelter and water sanitisation.

If you are unable to join the team in Bangladesh but still want to help in any capacity you can join the team in our fundraising events. If you would like to arrange your own fundraising event, please get in touch with the team on info@refugeecrisisfoundation.com.
